CLALLAM COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY

What It Is

The Ranger Fund  promotes the adoptablilty of homeless dogs through training since behavior issues are the single biggest contributor to dog homelessness.

The Humane Society of Clallam County, WA is fortunate enough to have a world-class dog trainer in its back yard - - Terry Ryan of Legacy Canine Training and Behavior.  Terry has very graciously and generously volunteered her time to train animal shelter staff to train dogs so that they will be more adoptable.  That translates into more "forever homes" for homeless dogs.  The Peninsula Daily News has written an article all about the great things Terry is doing.  With expert training such as that provided by Terry, Clallam County dogs have their best chance at finding a forever home.  And you can help!

The fund is named in honor of Raid the Wind's Olympic Ranger .   Ranger is a very lucky dog with a loving home.  He is a purebred Shiloh Shepherd and was carefully and thoughtfully bred.  He was wanted before he was even born.  Many dogs aren't that lucky, so the Ranger Fund was created to help them have a better chance at finding a loving, caring home too.  The Ranger Fund has elected to direct all donations to support train-the-trainer training to help the dogs in the Clallam County Humane Society.

How It Works

The Ranger Fund operates on tax-deductible charitable contributions.  If you would like to make a donation to The Ranger Fund, any donation, no matter how small, will be gratefully received.  Even though time is volunteered for training dogs, there are inevitably incidental costs involved.  Checks should be made out to "Clallam County Humane Society."   Please indicate "To support incidental costs associated with dog training" in the memo line of your check.  Please mail your donation to:
